The $50 Blog Challenge – an entry

November 28th, 2007

money iconWell, I have to give props to my peeps in the Twitter-Sphere, because they let me know about this novel little contest that is being run elsewhere on the Blog-o-Sphere.

The contest is “How would you spend $50 on your blog?”, sponsored by A Blog About Nothing. And, while the sponsor and others had some very interesting concepts, I finally figured out what I would do if someone gave me $50 to spend on my blog. I know, I know, y’all are saying ‘But dude, your blog is already awesome, what could you possibly do to make it awesomer?’

Well, here is my idea. I would take the money and head straightaway over to the wonderful monkeys over at ThinkGeek.com. What might I find there that I could use to enhance my blog? Well, there are the Stikfas, the Acrobots, or even The Cubes, that I could use to make stop motion animation stories that I could then post on YouTube, which could then link back to my blog thus increasing the traffic to my blog. Of course that would also mean that I would need to spend some time finding creative stories to tell with my “actors”, and with all of the writers on strike, I guess I will have to write those scripts myself.

Anyway, that is what I would do if I had an extra $50 to spend on my website.

This is a very creative idea. I would like to see it followed through.

Your check is “in the mail” (I’ve always wanted to say that) as of yesterday. Should be there by the end of the week. If not let me know!
